Motto and Aim
Knowledge is limitless and hence the challenge enshrined by us is Gyanam Anantam. All our efforts are directed towards meeting this challenge. Our school endeavors to provide the right opportunities and environment for the harmonious development of the Student's mind to enable them to become good human beings, responsible citizens and attach what our ancient Rishis were able to achieve in knowledge.
Though an Aryabhat or Chanakya is born once in a thousand years, we at Rishi Public School will help the child to take his first step to acquire part of the limitless knowledge.
The child is the most ambitious dream of every parent. We help young minds to ignite global thinking through Indian ethos. This is an invitation to all those parents who think that COMPLETE PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT of their children is one of the most important aspects of their life.
The School was established in 1996 with a clear message from our founders to provide "WORLD CLASS AFFORDABLE EDUCATION." We are committed to nurture our students in the moulds of character, confidence, vision and patriotism. This dictum is being followed by us in letter and spirit in all our activities. Our Sanskars and Sanskriti are precious to our Teachers and Staff. We want to pass on this heritage to the next generation.
The school is managed by "Swaran Devi Foundation, Indraprastha," an educational society registered under the Society’s Registration Act of 1860. Eminent educationists, Doctors, Social Activists and a Freedom Fighter form the Managing Committee of the school.
The foundation of the Gurgaon School was laid on August 24th 1995 and the School started its operations on April 5th 1996 with only 80 students and 6 rooms. Presently the student strength stands at 1000+. The School building is complete with a total of 54 class rooms. The entire required support infrastructure like the Library, Computer Labs, Science Labs, Staff Room, Sports Room and a very large indoor hall of approximately 6600 Square feet is in place.
The Gurgaon Brach is affiliated to the Council of the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi in 2001 up to Class X and later was conferred permanent affiliation up to Senior Secondary level in 2003.
The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations was established in 1958 by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate with the assistance of the Inter-State Board for Anglo-Indian Education. The Delhi Education Act, 1973 passed by the Parliament, in Chapter 1 under Definiti Section 2 (S), recognizes the Council as a body conducting public examinations.
The Council administers two Board level examinations – The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) at the end of Class X, and subsequently the Indian School Certificate (ISC) at the end of Class XII. Both the examinations are held in the month of March every year.
The ICSE syllabus provides for a balanced education, testing understanding and application of concepts. The students are examined in 7 subjects for the Class X examination. The subject options are exercised in Class IX. English, Hindi, History/Civics/Geography, Environmental Education and Mathematics are compulsory subjects. Students can choose between Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) and Commerce. We also offer Computer Applications as the seventh subject from Group III. The Council has always been a forward looking Body and had kept 20% of the total marks for internal assessment awarded in each subject based on project work undertaken by the students during their Class IX and Class X.
The ISC (Class XII) syllabus is career oriented and the compulsory subjects include English, Environmental Education and SUPW (Socially Useful Productive Work). At this stage the School offers three basic streams:
Medical Stream – comprised of Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Non Medical Stream – comprised of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
Commerce Stream – comprised of Commerce, Economics with Mathematics or Business Studies.
Trained and competent faculty deliver a highly intensive academic and co-curricular programme. Perspectives on careers through seminars, counseling, career placements and mentoring schemes form an integral part of Class XII students.
The ISC examination is an internationally recognized and our students have been admitted to prestigious professional Institutes in India and abroad.
As an institution we have taken up certain lasting social commitments and responsibilities. Since its inception, Rishi Public School has contributed to the local School for visually challenged students. It is a matter of pride for us that our students have also been contributing in cash or kind towards national calamities or some deserving charities like the Spastics Society of North India.
